“Predictive Control for Spacecraft Rendezvous”, the book newly published by Afonso Botelho for Springer, is based on the master’s thesis of Botelho, winner of the Luis Vidigal Prize, written under the joint supervision of João Miranda Lemos, researcher at INESC-ID and professor at IST, and by Baltazar Parreira and Paulo Rosa of DEIMOS Engenharia. This scientific monograph addresses the design of model predictive control algorithms for performing space rendezvous maneuvers. It consolidates developments within guidance and control algorithms, with the aim of improving the efficiency, safety, and autonomy of these maneuvers.
