Call Open: 2026 INESC TEC International Visiting Researcher Programme
The 2026 edition of the International Visiting Researcher Programme (IIVRP) from INESC TEC is now open for applications.
The programme invites researchers affiliated with universities and research organisations outside Portugal to spend between one and three months collaborating with INESC TEC research teams on topics of mutual interest.
Designed to strengthen international research partnerships, the programme provides visiting researchers with the opportunity to engage in collaborative research within INESC TEC’s multidisciplinary scientific ecosystem, which spans areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Bioengineering, Communications, Computer Science and Engineering, Photonics, Power and Energy Systems, Robotics, and Systems Engineering and Management.
Programme overview:
The International Visiting Researcher Programme supports short-term research visits that can act as a starting point for long-term scientific collaborations, joint publications, and future research projects.
Successful applicants will join INESC TEC teams for immersive research visits and participate in collaborative activities within the institute’s research community.
Key dates:
Application deadline: 15 May 2026
Visit start: from 1 October 2026
Visit end: no later than 31 July 2027
Duration: between 1 and 3 months
Who can apply:
The programme primarily targets senior researchers from institutions outside Portugal, although exceptional PhD and Master’s students from foreign institutions are also welcome to apply.
