The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and national/regional open science policy

April 16, 2024

Organiser: EWI & Ministère de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (co-lead), BELSPO (co-lead)

Place: Palais des Académies / Paleis der Academiën

On the 16th of April, the Belgian presidency cordially invites the Belgian and European Open Science Community to take part in the National EOSC tripartite event. This event follows the European Tripartite of EOSC on the same day.

The ambition of the European Open Science Cloud, known as EOSC, is to develop a ‘Web of FAIR Data and Services’ for science in Europe. Within a federated ‘system of systems’ approach it is the aim to provide European researchers from all scientific disciplines a multi-disciplinary environment where they can publish, find and reuse data, tools and services for research, innovation and educational purposes.

The goal of this event is to bring together the Belgian and European Open Science community and exchange best practices in the field of Open Science and Open Data. Participants will be given the opportunity to present posters of ongoing projects and activities related to Open Science and integration in the European Open Science Cloud during a networking lunch.

Furthermore, there will be plenty of time for discussion and exchange of views during the afternoon session, including an intervention of the European Tripartite, a keynote on ethics in Open Science and a panel session on ongoing projects in the field of Open Science in Belgium.

The day will end in the evening with a reception.
