Job Description

INESC TEC is looking for a Master holder to work within the Networked Intelligent Systems / Telecommunications and Multimedia cluster.

The position will include the following tasks: Assist in the execution of R&D projects with emphasis on programming and engineering activities. Assist with IT management and maintenance of the high performance computing (GPUs) and storage platform. Assist in the management and maintenance of the Centre’s laboratories. Assist in preparation of proposals for R&D projects, scientific production targeting international journals and conferences, especially in the field Computational Learning Applied on Telecommunications and Multimedia, particularly in our areas of Communication Technologies, Optoelectronics, Multimedia and Computer Vision.

The candidate are required to be nationals, foreigners, or stateless persons who hold a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a similar scientific field, and who have a scientific and professional background that indicates a profile suitable for the activity to be developed is required to have a Master degree in Information Science, Information Systems, Informatics Engineering or similar.

Preference will be given to candidates who have: participation, possibly including positions of responsibility, in research projects in Machine Learning applied to Telecommunications and Multimedia. Other preference factors: 1. post-master’s experience; Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments; Experience at least in one of the following programming languages: Python; C; C++; Java; Experience in building at least two of the following components: Web Pages; WebServices: API; Applications for Android and/or iOS mobile devices; Experience at least in one of the following domains: wireless networks, communication technologies, optoelectronic technologies, multimedia and computer vision; Experience at least in one of the following components: pyTorch; TensorFlow; OpenCV; Experience in managing high performance computing platforms based on GPUs. Experience in Slurm is valued; fluency in the English language.
