INESC ID is looking for a researcher to engage under the scope of project HiPerBio – PTDC/CCI-COM/31901/2017. The duration of the research fellowship is 6 months.
The selected candidate will explore sparse computing methods for high-order epistasis detection, with a special focus on the evaluation of efficiency and modelling of different sparse data representation formats and operations on the-state-of-the-art computing devices.
The candidates should have a Bachelor Degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering.
By the grant start date, the candidate must be enrolled in a MSc programme or in a non-degree programme.
Preference will be given to candidates who satisfy one or more of the following criteria:
i) strong background in computer science and research skills on assessing the efficiency and modelling of sparse operations and different representation formats
ii) Proficiency in written and spoken English.
The activity will be supervised by Aleksandar Ilic, Researcher at INESC-ID and Assistant Professor at IST. INESC ID will integrate the grantee in the research team of the scientific advisor.
The fellowship is renewable, if the candidate is enrolled in a MSc program or a non-degree program.
